Nestled in the East Neuk of Fife, joined on to Anstruther, is the Cellardyke Seaside sauna. With views out to the Isle of May and the Cellardyke tidal pools right outside, this is a fantastic spot for those seeking wellness in the form of vitamin Sea.

Our Wild Sauna Visit
We visited this wild seaside sauna on a crisp March morning, introducing my sister to her first wild sauna experience. The weather was changeable in classic Scottish style and didn't stop us enjoying this wood-fired wild sauna. We were excited to try the tidal pools as our cold plunge option but didn't bank on having the fantastic luck to see dolphins close up in the bay.
Guide to Facilities
Parking
After navigating the very narrow streets you can park right next to the sauna. Beware using Google Maps as it may guide you to arrive via the nearby caravan park.
Changing
There is no changing room/area at this sauna, so a dry robe or large towel is essential. There are plastic containers under the decking to store belongings.
Host
Our very welcoming host explained to us how to get into the tidal pool and also gave us a 5 minute warning at the end of our session. He was thoughtful to check on the fire each time we left the sauna.
The Hot Bit
This wood-fired wild sauna has 2 tiered bench seating for 6. The benches all face the floor to ceiling glass window and door with fantastic views out to sea. There is no sand timer inside for gauging your session.
The Cold Bit
The tidal pool is a little walk away from the sauna, so remember to bring some footwear. The host recommended the walkway and stairs however you can get in much quicker at the near side if you don't mind the shallows. We did also dip into a little pool right in front of the sauna, but it was very slippery underfoot.
Food/Drinks Nearby
Unfortunately the nearby coffee and food shacks were closed, but its only a few minutes drive through to Anstruther (I hear they do good fish and chips...)
Good to Know
The nearby toilets are only open from April - October.
