Our Wild Sauna Visits

The Wee Wild Sauna sits on the edge of Lochwinnoch village in the central Lowlands of Scotland, on the banks of Castle Semple Loch, a popular spot for water sports. Located close to the RSPB nature reserve, there is plenty to see, from rich birdlife to the varied activity out on the loch.

Located at Largs Yacht Haven just outside the popular seaside town of Largs, this wild sauna offers stunning views across the Firth of Clyde toward the island of Great Cumbrae and the Isle of Bute. On Scotland’s west coast, Bide sauna makes an easy and scenic day trip from Glasgow.

Located at East Sands Beach, beside the old harbour, this wood fired wild sauna sits on a popular family-friendly sandy beach near the East Sands Leisure Centre. With a coastal path, watersports and sailing nearby, it’s a lively seaside spot and winner of the 2025 Keep Scotland Beautiful Scotland’s Beach Award.

One of two nearby Wild Bathing saunas run by 3 sisters, The Snug is located at Ganavan Sands, a stunning white sandy beach just 2 miles north of Oban. With sweeping views across to the Isle of Mull, Morvern, and Lismore, it's an especially scenic spot to unwind. The beach is at the end of the road and is easily accessible by car, bus or on foot from Oban.

Puffin Sauna is situated in the vibrant waterfront district of Leith in the north of Edinburgh. Leith Community Croft is a unique, urban green space that blends community, nature, and wellbeing. Set slightly away from the busy city centre, nestled among food-growing plots, a cafe and park, this wild sauna is easily accessible while still offering a sense of escape.

Hot and Bothy offers two distinct wild sauna experiences, thoughtfully contained in one intimate setting. Tucked behind Archerfield Walled Garden, this wild sauna is reached by a winding path through expansive green space. It sits within a wider estate near the mouth of the River Forth, between the popular coastal towns of Gullane and North Berwick in South East Scotland.

Tucked away on the banks of Loch Ard, the wild Sweat & Soak sauna feels wonderfully remote and peaceful. To get there, you travel along a single-track road winding through the Trossachs, with glimpses of the loch opening up and, on clear days, stunning views of Ben Lomond in the distance. Tucked away on the rugged northeastern edge of Scotland in The Broch (Fraserburgh), is The Sauna Hoose. This wood-fired wild sauna offers an experience far removed from the usual tourist trail although only a stones throw away from the award winning Fraserburgh beach. Nestled in the East Neuk of Fife, joined on to Anstruther, is the Cellardyke Seaside sauna. With views out to the Isle of May and the Cellardyke tidal pools right outside, this is a fantastic spot for those seeking wellness in the form of vitamin Sea.

This custom built private wild sauna is situated in the Stirlingshire village of Arnprior. The sauna is part of the glamping site at Arnprior Farm, best known for its pumpkin patches. This certainly feels like a more glamorous wild sauna experience but the views over rural countryside and the fresh air keep you feeling grounded in nature.

This urban wild sauna is situated in the heart of Glasgow's west end. Despite this, Wild Heat sauna still feels like a quiet, calm space. Located within West of Scotland's cricket ground in Partick, the view is green and peaceful.

Situated at the mouth of Inverkip Marina this wood fired wild sauna gives views across the Firth of Clyde allowing you to watch the mist roll in or the boats sail by.

The Wild Spa is part of the venue Venachar Lochside, set on the Trossachs Trail between Callander and Aberfoyle. In the heart of Stirlingshire, this wild sauna offers beautiful views of the mountains surrounding Loch Venachar.

This thoughtfully organised, seaside wild sauna is set at the very edge of the pretty Fife village of Lower Largo. With an easy slope on to the sands of Lower Largo beach and views over the Firth of Forth, this wild sauna is perfectly placed for those who love the sea air.

This barrel shaped sauna is tucked behind the Karma Hotel right on the edge of the calm, quiet waters of Scotland's only natural lake (not loch) the Lake of Menteith. Within the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, and just along the road from the small rural community of Port of Menteith, this wild sauna looks over the water towards the ancient island priory of Inchmahome.

Set in the grounds of the Tir na Nog Holistic Centre, this outdoor sauna has a fantastic view over the Trossachs. The sauna itself is self-contained on a decking area with baths, shower and changing space.

At the harbour end of Aberdeen's Beach Esplanade this wild (slightly urban) sauna is in a great spot for a North Sea dook or a cool off on the beach. Barbossauna is walking distance to the picturesque old fishing village of Fittie (Footdee) and a long stretch of street food vendors, making it perfectly placed to embrace a full day beachfront experience.

Winner of 'Keep Scotland Beautiful' 2025 beach award, Kingsbarns beach is a lovely long stretch of sand. The village is in the East Neuk of Fife sandwiched between St Andrews and the picturesque fishing village of Crail.
