Situated just outside the picturesque Perthshire village of Comrie, this wood-fired wild sauna is part of the community owned rural estate where community and nature are the focus. Set within the native woodland at Comrie Croft, Nowhere Sauna offers a unique experience to unwind in nature. The nearby waterfall, birdsong and dappled sunlight filtering through the trees create a peaceful woodland sanctuary where nature sets the pace.

Our Wild Sauna Visit
We visited Nowhere Sauna on a Sunday afternoon in June. It was our first experience of a sauna in warm weather, and it certainly won't be our last. While Comrie Croft itself was buzzing with activity, the short walk through the woodland to the sauna felt like stepping into a different world. As we followed the winding path beneath the trees, the sounds of the Croft faded, replaced by the gentle quiet of the woodland, creating an immediate sense of calm.

Guide to Facilities
Parking
There is ample parking including several electric vehicle chargers and disabled spaces by the farmhouse building. The sauna is an uphill walk along woodland trails so leave 5 - 10 minutes to make your way without a rush.
Changing
There is a large changing area with curtain at the sauna with mirrors, hooks and lockers provided. Hot showers are also available back at the main Comrie Croft building.
Host
Our host was relaxed and welcoming. She showed us around the facilities and helped us with our questions.
The Hot Bit
The converted horsebox sauna is centred around a large wood-burning stove, with L-shaped benches across two levels providing space for up to six people. The dark timber interior creates a cosy, calming atmosphere, while a large picture window frames views across the pond and the lush summer growth of trees and waterside plants. Sauna hats are provided. There isn't a sand timer in the sauna, so it's simply a case of listening to your body and stepping outside when you feel ready. Around ten minutes before the end of our session, our host arrived with eucalyptus-infused water for the löyly, filling the sauna with a fresh aroma and gently signaling that our time was coming to an end.
The Cold Bit
The self-contained decking area outside the sauna means there's no need for shoes or sandals, allowing you to move comfortably between the heat and the cooling area. While the pond isn't used for cold immersion, there are plenty of other ways to cool down.
There are two plunge pools: a large bath designed for one person and a spacious tub with bench seating that could comfortably accommodate four to six people (depending on how well you know each other). K's favourite was the overhead drench bucket beside the waterfall, where cold water and the sound of the cascade made for a particularly refreshing cooldown. There are also watering cans and buckets and for something gentler, benches where you can sit, rest and let your body gradually adjust before heading back into the sauna.
Food/Drinks Nearby
Water and cups are provided. Other drinks are available to purchase at the sauna and there is also Gorse Cafe (and farm shop with drinking water tap) down at the main buildings at Comrie Croft.
Good to Know
You can buy Dook clay masks as well as natural skincare oils that are made by one of the hosts. Towels and swimsuits are available to hire. Comrie Croft has many nature-inspired enterprises including mountain bike trails, campsite and farming.
