Winner of 'Keep Scotland Beautiful' 2025 beach award, Kingsbarns beach is a lovely long stretch of sand. The village is in the East Neuk of Fife sandwiched between St Andrews and the picturesque fishing village of Crail.

Our Wild Sauna Visit

Recommended to us by friends, we visited Kingsbarns wild sauna on a gray day in Summer. Located just up off the beach itself and has a fantastic view for great people watching.

Rocky beach with cloudy sky, person floating in calm sea. Sand is golden. Peaceful and serene scene.

Guide to Facilities

Parking

There is plenty of paid parking at the beach, which is down a single tracked road. Overnight parking is also permitted.

Changing

Space for changing is in the open but there is a covered storage box to keep your belongings in. There are some not great public toilets nearby but they have several signs about not using them for changing (writer unknown...).

Host

The sauna host was friendly and welcomed us. He was apologetic about the signs.

The Hot Bit
The sauna has seating for 8 with benches along one side. A big picture window gives a great view of the beach and gannets diving in the bay.

The Cold Bit

We timed it perfectly for when the tide was coming in, so the run down to the sea got shorter each time.

Food/Drinks Nearby

Right next to the sauna is Harbour Burger, which as the name suggests serves up a wide array of tasty burgers. Veggie friendly.
