This custom built private wild sauna is situated in the Stirlingshire village of Arnprior. The sauna is part of the glamping site at Arnprior Farm, best known for its pumpkin patches. This certainly feels like a more glamorous wild sauna experience but the views over rural countryside and the fresh air keep you feeling grounded in nature.

Our Wild Sauna Visit
We visited this wild sauna on a wet and windy midweek night. Due to its size, the bookings are always private which makes this ideal for those who might be apprehensive to try their first wild sauna. We were excited to have the sauna to ourselves as we usually go for communal sessions but this was very affordable. It was dark when we arrived so it took us a minute to find where exactly the sauna was. The entire sauna area is self-contained and private giving it a boutique feel.
Guide to Facilities
Parking
Up a single lane track off the main road is a large car park. The sauna is straight ahead, up a small path, only metres away from the main parking area.
Changing
The building is split into 3, with an entrance area in the middle, the sauna on one side, and a changing room and toilet on the other. There is a heated towel rail, bench and hooks in the changing room, along with a handy little basket to store your belongings.
Host
There is no interaction with the host in this wild sauna, you are emailed the code to the key box after your booking. The sauna is fired up, ready to go and the previous occupants drain the plunge bath.
The Hot Bit
This 2 tiered electric sauna comfortably seats 4 and has views across the fields. Unfortunately the sand timer in the sauna itself couldn't be trusted, however there is a clock in the hallway. A perk of being private is that you can put a timer or music on your phone without disturbing anyone else.
The Cold Bit
There is a very large plunge bath outside which is easily big enough for 2 people. You will need to refill this yourself, the tap water comes from a nearby spring. It takes 7 - 10 minutes to fill completely. Additionally there is a hot and cold shower outside, the option of having a hot water shower was a nice change.
Food/Drinks Nearby
Next to the car park is the 'Farm Vending' building with a self service coffee machine and a 'vending' machine, although that is understating it. A selection of treats and snacks are available as well as towels, robes and camping related items. For those after something a bit more substantial to eat, there is the Pottery Shop and Coffee Kiln Cafe a couple of minutes drive away in the village of Buchlyvie.
Good to Know
The switch for the outside lights is just to the left as you come through the main gate to the sauna area. There is an unfortunately placed heat sensor alarm right outside the door to the sauna which can go off if you take too long getting in and out.
